As a sports enthusiastic and internationally active Frankfurt office, AS+P is pleased that the construction and running of a competitive multifunctional arena for up to 15,000 visitors in the “heart of Europe” is feasible. Last Sunday, the city of Frankfurt/Main presented the results of several in-depth studies that consider a multifunctional arena on parking lot P9 next to Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park to be feasible and sensible.

The studies carried out regarded the planning approach, mobility, as well as cost-effectiveness of the new arena. As part of the presentation of the functional planning, AS+P highlighted that a new multifunctional arena at the P9 site meets the requirements for a rapidly realizable, innovative, and sustainable hall and location concept, given the synergies with the existing stadium infrastructure, the already planned and existing connection and parking capacities, the use of sealed space and the already existing planning law.

The new arena will serve as a new, state of the art arena for basketball players Skyliners Frankfurt and the ice hockey club Löwen Frankfurt as well as a venue for concerts, shows or large congresses.

AS+P welcomes the broad approval of a new sports and events venue in our hometown Frankfurt, which could render the city and the Rhine-Main region even more attractive for other major sporting and musical events. In the autumn, the city council and the municipal assembly will vote on a policy decision.
